NGC 891 Edge on Galaxy (HV19)

NGC 891 is a great edge on galaxy with dust lanes that are similar to out own Milky Way. The dark rift from Cygnus down to Sagittarius is now given a different perspective. This galaxy is located in the constellation of Andromeda at magnitude 10.8 and is 13.4' x 2.5' in size. You will need a large aperture scope to see this one well. It is approximately 120 light years across and 43 million light years away from Earth.
